Scottish Sea Kayak Touring

Some club members took part in a Hebridean and Slate Isles expedition recently. It was a successful five day expedition for the team, the weather window opened and team members took full opportunity as they circumnavigated Berneray, Mingulay and weaved a magical route back to Barra via Pabbay, Flodaigh and Sandray. There were some big swells and spicy seas, definitely a trip up there with the best in the UK. As the weather closed in, the team headed to the Slate Isles for a three day expedition including a 20 mile down wind Oban to south of Luing, second day sound of Luing via Belnahua, force six winds on springs, lively crossing to Easdale, tea and cake in the cafe and a stealth camp. Third day beautiful morning back to Oban. Lots of songs, poetry and great companionship, the sea kayak community in the best!
